Gone Postal!!!!

Abby then...
Abby now!
Ruby then...
Ruby now!!!!
This amount of hair is wrong!
OK. Anyone who knows me knows that Ruby's hair is a nightmare. Seriously, it is not natural to have that much hair for a two year old. Abby is quickly becoming just as bad. Her hair, or should I say her mullet, is half way down her back when wet and she is only 11 months. Last night I barely had the energy to give them a bath, let alone have the stamina to battle Ruby and her borderline dread locks. I pondered passing on the bath, but they were way too dirty. I pulled up my boots, got them naked and started bath time. I should wear a poncho... how do you get an 11 month old to stop splashing or explain to a two year that she can't splash even though her sister makes the bath like hurricane Katrina??? Time to brush out the knots and now I need a straight jacket, a muzzle, ear plugs, a bottle of wine (yes, not just a glass) and don't forget my poncho. It was the last straw. I can't handle it anymore. I calmly (yeah , right :)) got them out of the bath, dried them off, pulled down the booster with a belt and tray, grabbed a comb and scissors and went to town. By the way, Anthony wasn't home. Neither cried, their hair looks MUCH better. Ruby just said "mama, your not gonna cut me?" How long have I been contemplating this? My Life has been REVOLUTIONIZED. P.S. Anthony loves it!

I'm not kidding...

Last night Anthony and I went to the Clipper game. We decided that even though we knew how to get there, we would try the Onstar feature on my new car. Nervously, we pressed the button and a lady came on and said "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Mitzner (hee-hee)". " I see you are traveling west bound on the 91, what is your destination?" Anthony replied "Staple Center". After several minutes of waiting, she activated the voice driving commands. I knew something was wrong when we passed Staple Center and it prompted us to go North on the 101. We decided we would continue to follow the directions and ended up in some ghetto neighborhood by Chavez Ravine!!! And then Online said "you have reached you destination". We just laughed and found our way back and made it inside Staple center as they were calling out the line-up's. What I'm not kidding about: During the third quarter I heard a GUY behind me say "Dude, I never thought I would say this, but, have you ever seen John and Kate Plus Eight? That show is hilarious. You can't believe the shit that happens!" I had to turn around and look. He was early thirties, alternative style, and decent looking-no wedding ring. I soooo wanted to ask if he had kids!

Girls Night Out, Grammy's Birthday, & Nana & Papa on a cruise!

Wine Tasting at California Adventure.
Dinner at Blue Bayou.
Kelly!

Friday night was Girl's Night out for Angie's Birthday and we had so much fun! It was nice to walk around without strollers and diaper bags, being embarrassed because the two beers you bought at California Adventure are sloshing all over the stroller, being able to just go to the bathroom, and have great adult conversation. The things you miss before you have kids is amazing, but I wouldn't change it for the world. It was also really nice to finally meet Ayesha... she is super sweet and we had a blast! My folks went on their first cruise over the weekend, just the three day to Ensenada. My mom's exact comments this morning... "Now I know why you guys said it is so much fun!" They were up until 1:00am at clubs and, I kid you not, MY DAD AND CRAIG WENT TO PAPA'S AND BEER!!! My dad told me he needs to take a few more days off just to recoup:) Yeah Mom and Dad! Last night we went to the Cheesecake factory to celebrate Patti/Grammy's Birthday! We had great food and even better company. Ruby adores her Grammy and it is so cute to watch. She has definitely got her in her pocket! :) All in all, the kids were good. Only one spilled milk and Kim: what is worse? A solid poop in the jacuzzi or a mushy one from sox to neck at a restaurant?

Toothaches & Mama T.T.

People who know me know that I have had a horrible experience with my teeth. Well, I went to the dentist a couple of weeks ago for a tooth ache and I had a small cavity filled. It has never felt ok. Yesterday I went back to the dentist because of more pain and my gums were swollen above my cavity tooth. Well, they gave me a pain killer - that didn't work b/c of the infection, sliced my gums and let it drain - OUCH! - then said I would have to see a specialist to get a root canal, possibly two. Today I sit and wait. It does feel a little better after the drain. Today I am home with the girls and we are watching T.T. She is so much fun to have over. She adores Abby, in fact, she acts like her second mommy. She brings her toys, her bottle, a blanket. She kisses her, hugs her, and pats her on the head when she cries and says "that's ok". The funniest one: I was folding laundrey (surprise, surprise) when I heard Abby crying. Iwent in the living room to find T.T. trying to do Abby's hair with a brush! I had just done Abby's hair and left the brush out. Half her pony was out and she was crying, T.T. kept brushing and telling her "that's ok". That sounds earily like my daily experience with Ruby and her hair... does T.T. want to do Ruby's? I have all three kids at my feet asking for different things... I better go!

Abby's Walking and Ruby's a Goofball

Abby took her first steps on Saturday! It was so cute. On Monday she could take 4-5 steps and last night she was taking 10-12. It is happening all too fast. There are parts of me that want her to be a baby forever. I was really sad when Ruby made the transition from baby to toddler. It feels like you are losing something.. it's so hard to explain. She may be our last baby, so I have to cherish it as much as I can! Watching her walk is so much fun. You can see in her face that she is trying to figure this whole thing out. Am I scared? Am I confident? I love it! Ruby has hated taking pictures lately. She runs or buries her head every time I pull the camera out. Now that I am trying to get pictures of Abby walking... she either wants to get between the camera and Abby (and yell or whine) or she wants me to take a silly picture of her! Go Figure! Every day they are both changing... being a mom is truly amazing. (p.s. For some reason I can't upload the video of her walking-I'll try again later)

You Know your tired when...

So about two weeks ago I bought a new shampoo and conditioner - same kind I always buy: one large conditioner and a small shampoo, I was just out. I am seriously so tired when I shower because it is either after 9:00pm are around 6:00am. A couple times I thought the conditioner seemed a little different, but oh'well, no big deal. This morning when I put the conditioner in my hair I realized what I thought was different: it seemed like it was so sudsy. When I washed it out I picked up the bottle... they were both shampoos. I was double shampooing my hair every day for two weeks and just realized it today :-.

Jade's Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Jade!
Bean-Bean in the bouncer!
Ruby-do!
OK... Diana is a cake Genius! Too Cute!

Jade's Birthday Party was on Saturday, and of coarse we could hardly get Ruby out of the Bounce House. Sorry for the sideways video, I couldn't see how to change it. We had such a good time, especially considering they didn't have any naps! Jade had so much fun. Karen and Greg through a great party for her. They had a bounce house, pin the nose on Elmo, tons of food and drinks, and tons of family and friends to celebrate! Thanks for the party favors, too! The bubbles were a hit at the park the next day!

A couple more Disney Pic's

I couldn't resist adding these... Kim took them and emailed them to me. I LOVE MY GIRLS!

Disneyland Valentine's Date

Ruby's sooo Excited!
Ang, Brady, & Aubrey on Dumbo.
Me and my Valentine's dates on Pirates!
Trevor and Auntie Kelly.
Kim and T.T.

Considering a bad day at work and some convincing from Kim, I decided to leave work early and take my girls to Disneyland for a Valentine's date! This was Abby's first time and Ruby's third time, but the first time for me to take them together by myself. We had a great time, even though I am physically exhausted. The logistics of the whole thing was crazy! Getting in and out of strollers and rides, taking turns holding each of them, making sure they eat! It is a good thing Kelly came along to be my surrogate spouse. She is amazing and my kids really love her. Thanks Kel! We were also joined my Kim and her two kids and the Allen Family. Trevor and Brady continue to be hysterical together! I think Ruby's favorite ride was my hip and my sweet Abby was in awe the entire time. She went on all the rides with us and had a jaw dropping expression on each of them. Ruby continues to surprise me - she wasn't even scared on Pirate's of the Caribbean! Even during the cannon fights and the "slides" in the dark, she was really good. For anyone who know Ruby, that's shocking. She gets scared when T.T. makes lion noises. The girls fell asleep on the way home. I got them in their beds by 8:45, through on my p.j.'s, and was asleep by 9:15. Ruby didn't get up until 6:20 - Abby at 6:45. I told Anthony this morning that I think that was the most non-sick sleep I've had since Ruby was born.

Porky Pig, Laundry, & Valentine's Day

Abby was sick for about two weeks. It was so sad. She was irritated and would not eat. Today, I cannot shove enough food down that child's mouth! She was up twice last night just to eat! Then she wants to play. I would just let her cry herself back to sleep, but her door is 6 inches from Ruby's and I can't have two children up in the middle of the night. Needless to say, I got about 5 hours of sleep! Laundry - seriously does it ever end? I do some part of it every single day. Conversation goes like this: Anthony "my softball pants are still in the hamper from last week". Jeana "I just did a load of darks yesterday". Anthony "I saw the stack of folded clothes and it didn't look like a full load". I'm so glad it's Valentine's Day. I feel soooo special! I can't wait to go to a romantic dinner, dress nice, have adult conversation... oh wait, that's not happening. Trust me, I am not big on Valentine's Day, but it is a good excuse to get out of the house and not have to cook dinner and clean. Anthony is going to the gym and won't be home until 7ish, so my back-up plan: I am going to leave work early and take the girls to Disneyland with Kim and her kids, Kelly, Ang & Brian and their kids. I'll post some pictures tomorrow and I promise I'll be in a better mood!

Just before the boat departed.
Ahoy!
Ang & Aubrey decorating cupcakes
This one's my favorite! Jade with a face full of frosting
while sucking on a lollipop!
T.T. probably ate a 1/4 cup of frosting that day!

EXHAUSTED!

After a fun-filled hectic weekend, I am exhausted! Every weekend we hit the ground running. I seem to fill every waking moment with activity. Part of the reason is because you want your kids to have fun and be active, but almost a bigger reason is the guilt of being a "working mom". I never thought I would be a working mom. I really don't see how anyone can afford it. I am, however, very lucky. My mom lives next door and takes care of the girls. So when I am finally off work, I want to shower my girls with love and adventure! On Saturday Ruby and I went whale watching with Kim and Trevor. We saw tons of dolphins, a couple of sea lions, and one whale. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. The unfortunate part, you always anticipate your children to have sooo much fun, well, Ruby wanted me to hold her the entire time, then fell asleep on my lap for the last hour(her only nap of the day). Needless to say, Trevor had a blast, I enjoyed relaxing and talking to Kim. That night I had a Valentine's Party for the kids. We had over Kim, Trevor, Taylor, Ang, Brian, Brady, Aubrey, Karen, Greg, and Jade. We all had a blast! It is such a joy to watch all of our children playing and having fun. Brady and Trevor are the best together!! Taylor is so adventurous. Aubrey has the cutest personality. Jade is a doll. And Ruby and Abby are "mama's girls". I truely have the best group of family and friends! Sunday I brought the girls to Seal Beach (our usual routine) and then went to the farmer's market. Then the plan was to get the girls home for a good nap, then go to Kim's for the afternoon. Kim called to say her kids were refusing to sleep so come over early. I said "no way", my girls are exhausted and will take a nap. Well, Ruby and Abby screamed and screamed - I think they were feeding off of each other. Anthony got Abby and bounced her to sleep. Ruby continued to scream. So I got her up and put her in our bed with me so she wouldn't wake Abby. Again, needless to say, Ruby never slept, Abby slept for 40 minutes. No cooperation! We went to Kim's, I thanked her for jinxing me. They were asleep by 7:30. Another weekend I barely survived! To top it off, Anthony is sick! You know he's got to be when he didn't play his basketball game last night! I'll add pictures later. I love you all!
