We'll Try Anything!

Yes... the potty is in the living room.
PLEASE GO!
Ruby on her big wheel.
Abby in the front yard.

So it has been 2 weeks from yesterday that we have been working with Ruby and her Potty Training. Every day when I get home from work I put her in her "big girl" undies. On the weekends, unless we aren't home, she is in her undies. She has held her pee for up to 5 HOURS! She has only had one real accident(pee, thank god). I have reached the point that I will try anything!! So I had the idea to put the potty in the living room in front of the boob tube. I was hoping she would forget and just let go. She sat there in total for ~40 minutes... and still NO PEE or POOP! For the love of mankind, why won't this child go!!! I like to pee! Daddy likes to pee! We have potty videos & potty books. We have tried every reward possible. She keeps complaining that her tummy hurts... should we stop? I told myself we aren't giving up this time! On a brighter note, I am so happy about the time change and good weather. I get home from work at 4:15, and the whole winter I would get the girls and shuffle inside for the evening. Now, we stay outside and play, water plants, kick balls, ride bikes, etc. Both my girls love being outdoors... almost to the point that if we are in for the night I have to close the door because Abby will stand at the door and cry, then turn and look at me with this pathetic look, like"why are you keeping me hostage in this house".

That is too funny Jeana. I say you give her some time off. You are just getting discouraged, she will do it when she is ready. It seems that now it is almost a power thing for her.

I'm with Kim - I would give it a break too. One day very soon I'm sure, she will just go potty and never look back. Kyla did the same thing - and Kade right now talks about the toilet, answers "the toilet" when asked where to go potty - but does he go on the toilet - nope. He'll go on the floor 2 seconds after I take him off of the potty, and his answer to when he will start going on the potty is: "when I get bigger and can drive." I don't think so. Good luck, hang in there. Oh by the way - Jack is the exact same about the outside, he wont even walk up our steps from walking home from meme's house because he doesn't want to be inside.

yeah jade loves being outside so much that if our front door is open she'll open the screen and start to climb down the steps with out me. its scary because if i'm not paying 100% attension...shes outta there.

and yeah...i'm taking a break from potty training...maybe just a week or two break and then she'll be ready

Brady took several months to be potty trained. You have till September, right??? She will be potty trained by then. She probably isn't ready, there are a few things you can't MAKE your kids do: potty, sleep, and eat. I know it's frustrating, I've been there, but you're doing great. BTW I can't wait to taste your tomatos. You should probably plant an avocado tree... yum

I wish my potty was in front of a big screen TV. That's awesome! Go Ruby! Literally! : )
