Suggestions

I am going to start a new tradition this year. I want to do a Christmas Eve tradition for our family that focuses on the the true meaning of Christmas. I have never been a "religious" person, so that makes it confusing. I don't want to be that family who goes to Church for Christmas and Easter. I do want to focus on the idea that Christmas is a time for family. It is about giving from your heart to make people feel special. I know, it is about getting, too. Does anyone have a family tradition that you can share? I am open for any ideas! So far I have decided that I will make homemade Lasagna(even the noodles:)) and in the girls and I will make cookies for Santa. I thought about letting them open one small gift... but then that seams to stray from my point. HELP!

hmmmmmm - the present we open on Xmas eve is pj's to sleep in that night....
Maybe you could have them create a picture of something that makes them happy - you could help them draw it or write words to accompany it, that way part of the process next year will include reading about the previous year? As the girls get older you can change it to cutting out pictures from magazines that represent what makes them happy, and so on as their abilities increase with age. It will be their version of happiness of the moment. You and Anthony can do it too?

We used to do the matching pj's too. We even still do it when we're all together.

We also do/did the lasagne thing, but my mom just bought it:) (xoxo mom).

I was a little confused though...do oyu want this tradition to be religious or nonreligious? We do church, then dinner, than our 1 present. If you don't want to make it religious, you could do hot coco and drive around and look at christmas lights.

Or you can do some charity work and have each of your girls go to target and pick out a gift that they want to give to a little boy/girl in the hospital and you can go give it them that night.
